If you look in the tarantula books you will see that it is a female because of the larger abdomen, males have smaller abdomens.

Looking pretty male, and AGAIN... The size and shape of the abdomen is relative to HOW MUCH YOU FEED not the sex...just like in humans...males and females can get fat...it has nothing to do with their gender.
