It looks female but I dont see the flap. Is there a flap where the gap is?

unfortunately i couldnt touch the flap with the forceps i have. may be it was too small, but in the other hand, there are no gaps like this in males. am i wrong?

No, there aren't gaps like that in males. Plus the books lungs are pretty far apart which also hints at female.
