@Rhysandfish Er...no. Mealworms are larvae. They could turn into beetles for sure, but there would need to be more than one and those beetles would need to run around for a while without being eaten by the T and more importantly find something to feed on themselves and so on. I've heard of, and seen, accidental cricket breeding, but never accidental mealworm breeding in a tarantula cage.
I breed mealworms, and those are exactly what they look like. Granted I don't know anything about other beetle larvae. Beetles are great at hiding, probably nearly as huge as a tarantula.
They are 100% Tenebrionid larvae. Mealworm adults can burrow, and if the cage is large enough and has hides, it's not inconceivable that some could have evaded your T and bred in the enclosure. Try sifting through the substrate and seeing if there are any more.
