B. smithi or hamorii, photo 2.
Since you asked. This is a hamorii. A freshly molted female i suspect? Male? Makes no difference...it is not the "golden-banded tarantula" described on page 63 of 'THE TARANTULA ' by William J. Baerg. The smithi is far more distinguished as far as color and separation of color. I've often referred to the smithi as being very pastel in color. Very vibrant with a prominent V on the carapace. And often larger than the hamorii.
