If anyone can tell me if this B. emelia is male or female and what to look for to determine the sex through a photo. Thank you!
Looks female. I am looking at the epigynial plate(the area betwen the sternum and lower abdomen with the top booklungs) and the space between the top set of booklungs.

Males top set of booklungs usually have straighter sides on the inner sides makes them look very triangular. The space between them in males is usually more narrow and darker in color. Sometimes there is a 'dot' in between them at the epigastric furrow which would indicate male. Females have slightly more curved inner sides of the top lungs and there is usually wider space. They have a lips shape at the furrow which I can see from the photo that you provided.

Although certain species or some individuals can fool people so moult is the only way to asure 100% accuracy.

Hope this info helps.

Thank you so much! That helps a ton. I haven't gotten a molt big enough to really see yet but this...(girl?..fingers crossed xxx) is a stunning specimen and is growing very quickly. I plan to have this specimens next molt sent off to be sexed to be sure.

Thank you so much!!
