Well, that and the fact that LP's are one of the most widely available, common species out there. Their sacs generally contain thousands of slings... It'll still live another 7-10 years, so you'll have him for a while yet.
 
Oh ok that makes sense. Cool, I thought they only lived 3-4 years. The seller said that he bred them and that the LP was about a year and a half old.

There are a lot of variables that impact how long males will live. In general, it will take 3-5 years for males of this species to mature, then they can live anywhere from 2-4 years after that. Anyway, it'll live a lot longer than most pets you can get for $35!
