Austin S and caseyK confirmed this as a male. So any input whether or not males have blazing spermathecae is much appreciated. (P.s. I know males don't have spermathecae) disappointed, I really liked casey and her business.
Based on the photo I would say male, but it's a poor photo. A photo that concentrates on the shed and not all the background stuff and your hand would be helpful.
Hungry ghost lol maybe you should concentrate on the molt instead of the background stuff. It doesn't take a genius to see the lady parts in this picture. Please someone more educated chime in if I am incorrect.
No lady parts in the other picture. I have a female, I know what it looks like. Your confused. If you want to submit a photo for sexing it would be best to leave out your hand, etc.
When austin and casey "confirmed" it as a "male".. was it with a ventral shot or a picture of a molt? Remember that ventral sexing Ts are not 100% accurate, and GBBs are extremely difficult to sex ventrally, don't always take someones word when it comes to ventral sexing, always always confirm via molt.. and remember, that sometimes it's not even always accurate sexing a molt by picture.. and unless you sent them the exuvium and they had a look at it under a microscope, I don't think it's fair to get dissapointed with someone just because they guessed wrong, hey, everyone makes mistakes and sometimes photos can be misleading, especially with hard to sex ventrally genera.. and yes, that appears to be a female...
Oh, everything has been resolved! Casey is such a sweet and respectable woman that she is sending me Gbb slings at no cost to make up for the honest mistake. I am not sure how this particular girl was sexed, but she is 100% not a he. Hungry ghost is drunk lol. I do appreciate your input lamberts! The spermathecae is so obvious I really don't see how hungry ghost is not seeing it lol! But it does take experience to really know what you're looking for.
WOW. First off, This male was purchased through one of my friends, that he sexed. While packing them to send to Casey, I sexed a few. Supposedly I sexed this one she states, but it was already labeled male on my friends part, so why the heck would I. Casey said I'll text you the text where you stated, but she never posted a picture of the actual conversation of when I supposedly said it was male. All that was put was a date and what I "said". You can only 100% ID the sex of a tarantula by its molt. Was a horrible idea to be dragged into this when my only intensions was to help a friend make some money for his divorce, and help someone else grow their business. This is the third BS problem that was part of this transaction that I have been dragged into. All my part in this transaction was to ship the damn things. Lesson learned.
