Does the little dark colored piece above the furrow move - can you get a toothpick or pin behind it? If you can, then it's a female.
 
Unfortunately, my eyes are far too poor for something that small (even with my jewelers glasses). I did manage to get a pin under it, but it appears I ripped a small hole in it in the process, so who knows if it was a flap or just my will for it to be a flap. I have a legit kid’s microscope, but I’m not very good with it yet. Its minimum is 75x. I can see the hair follicles with ease, but figuring out where I am and what I’m seeing at a 2mm section is taking some work. I’m putting her down as suspected female for now and luckily, she’ll keep getting bigger and easier to see, lol. Thank you for your help!
