Eleodes female and male.

Nothing special but after 7 hours of mountain biking in the rolling hills looking for Aphonopelma’s, even these basic “stink bugs” became an incredible find. I may have found a recluse sling, along with a frog, and something I am still trying to ID. Need to dig out the micro scope for the spider.
these guys are all over the place down here around town, every "normal" person just overlook them and probably eek out but me partial to their little shiny wonders lol always throw them out of harms way back into the dirt or bushes when I see them on concrete

@u bada “normal” people scare me or bore me. At least if they scare me it is enough to interest me a few minutes longer.

I love the matte black legs and bodies. They are fun to watch crawl around but it was cool to find them while they were mating. It made me very curious about their life cycle so I took the female home with me to experience the full thing and learn more about them.
