So this has looked male right up until that last moult, does all this colour mean it's female then and was just masquerading as a male?
As you know not kept these but read only females get the stripes so with that pattern I should imagine your he is a she 😉.
 

ForTW gave info saying they often cover as males till they are sub adults so makes sense she looked male not female till now.
