@cold blood He has literally blocked himself in. Sealed off all the exits. I was told by someone at the BTS that it isn't uncommon for T's who are housed into a much nicer environment to go straight into a molt. I'm hoping that is what is happening.
@Ian1980 its not a nicer enclosure this happens with, its a larger enclosure....now many of the more elaborate set ups do tend to be over sized to a degree, so there can be that connection.....i will add that my room is always dark, so in general my ts hide a lot less than the norm.
@cold blood this question has bothered me since I started researching tarantulas. In the wild their enclosure is the world. Why in captivity are we so certain about the size of enclosure we need to give them? Would a wild caught spider be as happy in a large enclosure as they would in a small? Is it just captive bred that we force into such small spaces that are intimidated by larger enclosures?
