Southern black widow female with egg sack. I have had her since early October and she spun her egg sack about a week ago and just wanted to show off how pretty she is. Super excited to see the babies.
@CyclingSam thanks I found her in my garden when I was moving around logs it took me two weeks to find suitable males for her. Hoping to have many more.
this answered my next question @Daniel0439, was going to ask if you will get an egg sac, nice to know some babies are on the way! What is important factors to look for when choosing/finding a male? Size/age and species or anything else?
It's difficult to find a male. But if you do have any luck with it find one that is almost full grown which usually males don't live very long they live to about a year, but feed the female before you introduce them so she is less likely to eat him. If he is strong and she find him a descent mate she won't kill him especially if she is already full. But she was already pregnant when I found her.
