Hirudinaria manillensis
@Socfroggy @campj Yes I feed them with my own blood, and right now they are living in a 32 Oz deli cup with a 1/2 inch of gravel with pieces of an aquarium sponge and some plants.

So you cut yourself, use syringes, apply the leaches directly to your skin, or what? Crazy, wild stuff!

@MTA Along with water in the enclosure, correct? Is there any risk from feeding these blood directly from your body?? Generally how much space do you need per leech?

So wilfully applying leaches to one's skin doesn't sound exactly sane haha. Why not find a good butcher shop and get some excess blood for them? Or buy a minivan and disguise it as a Red Cross blood bank so you can collect "donations"? Anyway, I'm going through your gallery... very interesting hobby you've got going on, and one I'd never have even considered. Keep the pics coming.

@campj I would assume that fresh blood is best for the critters. And I thought that as well but then I remembered that's exactly what people think about keeping arachnids of any kind
