Euathlus sp Tiger

Very new to T's. Just one of my 3. This is a female, name Toba, about 2"-2.5". Fairly active meandering about her dry/terr enclosure usually in the afternoon to evening. Very friendly. Any advice for this species is welcome. She webs strands randomly wherever she walks, normal?
All normal. This species are very active and will keep moving most of the time leaving a line of silk wherever they go.

Calm species usually. However I have had a very nasty female. No specific husbandry issues. Should just be kept dry.

Thanks guys, any reason for the threading as they walk? I mean there's gotta be a purpose right? lol

I have a female for this species as well. Mine shifts position all the time. I keep the substrate dry. She has webbed up quite a bit of the substrate and walls though it is nothing like the heavy webbers.

Mine is fun to watch when I drop in prey. It is like a chess match where they take turns making moves until the cricket is finally too close and gets munched.

Best of luck. Enjoy.

thanks Jeff23! So I guess it'll get bigger still or 2.5 is about the biggest? Read get to 3-3.5"... I'm already expecting it not to molt all that frequently... and just feed 1/week on average at this stage?

thanks @BobBarley, actually just fed her before I saw this, been a little less than a week... and she pounced. A cricket, about the size of her prosoma. So less frequent, eh? you can see abdomen in pic.

@u bada Just make sure abdomen stays at a nice size and you'll be fine. If you continue with your feeding schedule (one a week) she will probably start fasting for prolonged periods of time.

Ok, I hear ya. I heard that about the chilean species. I'll space feedings out and see how it goes. It's getting warmer here so I have to keep that in mind too.

@u bada Mine is probably around 2.5" DLS in size. I feed mine close to once per week but it isn't a precise time period. I am fearful of creating a "fast" so I try not to overfeed. I just make sure the abdomen stays plump (not shriveled, over-sized, or under-sized).
