I guessed male too, but really the only way to be sure is to look at a molt. The picture isn't bad but it's not super clear where it counts, so I'd definitely suggest holding off final judgment until you can examine a molt.
It's hard to get a molt from these guys. Unlike other tarantulas throwing their molt in front the entrance to the borrow. These guys (at least mine) will make part of the borrow or dirt
