@viper69 youre thinking not Metallica. I'm thinking the same. Looks like avic avic.
But I'm not even going to pretend to be able to ID avicularia from photos
@Haksilence I'm actually thinking I cannot tell from that pic because the subject is not close up, nor do I know its age. If the abdominal setae are red along the anterior portion of the abdomen and extending along its dorso-lateral sides, then it's not the Avic identified in the USA as A. metallica.
I was looking at a European page recently and it listed A. sp Kwitara River and A sp. metallica green as 2 different Ts. Yet in another Euro forum someone said they were one in the same.
although the pic doesn't show it my t has the white tips on the ends of its hairs. I thought a avic lacked this feature. The spider is about 3.5 dls and I got it for 36.00 American.
@N8Legged avics cant be identified by photos with certainty, especieally not metallica v avic. as well this isnt an identifying trait of metallica. the identifying characteristic of metalica is the white tipped setea
I'd pull it out to show you but it currently has a hisser in its mouth and I'm sure that it's more interested in that than being held. the setae on my t are almost bulbous like the white is a drop of dew on the end of the setae obviously iT's just the white tips but that is how it appears.
