Are you getting the brick or the stuff that is loose in the bags? If it is the brick, find yourself a really big bowl and run water over it. Give it a bit of time and break off the stuff that is moist from the water in a separate bowl. You probably don't need a lot of the brick for only one enclosure, so get a paper bag and put the remainder of the brick in it for later. Let the substrate that you have broken off dry off for a couple of days because this species wants it really dry. They will be miserable if you put it directly in right after you have prepared it because it will be far too moist.
