I purchased this tarantula from a reptile show and on the container it came in said only "Texas Brown". That name can refer to either Aphonopelma hentzi or Aphonopelma anax. Which species is this T?
Wide caraspace and dark coloration maybe Anax. How big is this tarantula DLS? Is this a Female? 60% percent sure not a hentzi. Got to love Aphonopelma sp.
At that size should be mature. Therefor leaning more toward female but I did have
A male Hentzi about 5" DLS that didn't mature out no hooks or boulbous pedipalps.
Only way to be 100% is to sex the next molt.
