Thanks, I think I see a dot myself. It's about 3" right now. I'm getting an 8" female within a couple weeks. So hopefully get some breeding in eventually. I've never been good at ventral sexing. I'll go through the ventral shots guess then look at the answers. 60% of the time I guess what others guess, but I'm not always on the same page.
I can always just wait for a molt, or wait until mature. The dimorphism is huge on LV's.
Really, it gets quite easy after awhile. I've even begun to do incredibly well with determining the sex of babies at even one inch by practicing just as you had suggested, and I've only been in this hobby for a few months. Just don't ponder too hard and second guess your initial decision unless the photo is much too difficult to observe.
