On yours Hobo you can get a good clue by the line under the dot area. On the females it's more open and the male it's closed tightly. Still obviously an inexact science.
The line was closed very tightly to almost nothing. You can barely see it in my picture, which I can't say for the one posted here. Besides, the "line" isn't the best way to tell on its own, and is one of the last things you should look at, IMO. Then again, ventral sexing for tricky ones like this is always easier in person than it is through one angle pictures.
I would still maybe say this one is male, but not with any confidence to conclude anything without a molt to back it up.
