I believe 100% that this was labeled as Dolichothele rufoniger when purchased, as the OP has stated. There has been a lot of speculation that the specimens in the hobby which are labeled D. rufoniger are not actually rufoniger, because they don't match the accepted taxonomic description (in regards to more than just coloration). I also believe that under the correct lighting @IncyVinceySpiders specimen above would look like @Arachnid Addicted specimen in the linked photo. We know how drastically lighting can change coloration in photos, especially shades of blue and purple...
As is noted in the post I linked above, a similar situation also seems to be going on with Dolichothele mineirum. All we as hobbyists can do is keep the identification of the specimens consistent with how they were labeled when acquired.

Yes I’m aware of the issue surrounding D rufoniger in the hobby - I’ve kept this labelled as rufoniger for now until there is more clarification around the true identity! Regardless it’s one of the stars of my collection
