You need to illuminate it and take the pic from a back to front angle, this allows the light (and camera) to get under that line of hairs at the top of the furrow.
Gunna guess female from the shape of the furrow, dudes tend to be flat girls tend to have a smile shape , but venting is always just a guess, get a moult to be 100% sure.
