Female Latrodectus hesperus discovered her late summer 2024 living under the drainage pipe in bathroom after removed the sink some babies hatched and were seen around the bathroom I captured a few the rest have taken care of each other. They are good pest control.
I watched a thing on these they are great pest control, hammer lots of bugs and other spooder sp including recluse! I wish I could get them here, your so lucky!
When I first saw her, I walked into the bathroom one night and saw a flash of black quickly disappear under the pipe. At first I was freaked out, I had never seen a black widow in my life, and even though I barely saw her, that was the first thought I had. I started entering more carefully after that, and a couple more times I'd see her run quickly and hide. I feel like all those times I was still a little fearful, and I wonder if they can sense your fear. One night I was in the bathroom, and I saw her come down. For the first time, I didn't feel fear, just curious. I sat on the edge of the tub and watched her. She started building her web like a little acrobat, twisting and flipping, seeming to dance in the air. I just watched her in fascination. I named her Wendy, after my mom. . I'll just say my mom left plenty of men in shambles. She had been married more times than I have fingers. Whenever I'm in the bathroom and she is out, I greet her. She rarely runs and hides anymore. She will disappear, I think, behind the wall for a few days. Then I'll see her out fixing her web or collecting her catches. They are more afraid of us. I think they get a bad rap. She isn't at all aggressive. I respect her area, and she handles the insects that would otherwise get into my home. She has taught me not to be so quick to fear be cautious yes but not jump to fear. They are amazing I caught one of her babies it was itty bitty and I caught her in late October 2024 she just molted on the 1st or 2nd of January and now is sporting the dark black shiny skin and her hourglass which had remained cream colored is now a light orange. She is beautiful I named her Chaos Weaver because of the way black widows build their webs it's a chaotic mess.

I love it! I wish more ppl would do what you've done instead of going to instasquash. These are truly amazing creatures I am so glad you chose fascination not fear .
I love the names to, my auntie is called Wendy and she's similar to your mum she never married but has broken several dozen hearts over her years , and Chaos Weaver is a perfect name for her baby . We get false widows here and they build a very similar web of random , a great widow name .
