Male or female
It looks like a male, possibly a mature male. Can you get a better look at the pedipalps to see if there are any modifications to the ends of them?

I checked he has his tibial hooks really scared for the amount of time he has left as I just got him yesterday. At least i’ll be able to give him a good last few months in his enclosure away from the reptile shop.

Yeah, it could be a few weeks or several months - hard to say. Based on the amount of setae that have been rubbed off in this pic, he's been mature for more than a little bit. The keys to extending his life are making sure he always has access to plenty of clean water and offering prekilled prey items that he will stumble across as he wanders. They aren't focused on hunting, but aren't adverse to scavenging on the go.

Good luck with him!
