Bullsnakes

My breeding pair Pituophis catenifer sayi... Both are very well behaved and tolerate the keeper :-)
Man.... I need to get an actual pet with vertebrae....
That was my thought three years ago too... As a result, to this day I have made all the "certificates" for terrariums that are available in Europe and of my approximately 180 spiders I have only kept my beloved classic ones... But there are currently 28 snakes crawling through the room! So be careful what you wish for ;-)

They're beautiful snakes! Nice to hear that you've been able to get them to tolerate you. The wild ones we've got here would just as soon poop on you and bite you if you are silly enough to pick them up, and they willingly stand their ground instead of fleeing. I've kept a few over the years (WC - captive breeding was largely nonexistent for this species at the time), but even the ones that were raised from hatchlings always had a bad temperament. I suppose that's one of the benefits of captive breeding for a few generations, lol.

I also have a white sided pair - totally different. Hissing and striking even when I stand 10 meters away
But I like that too!

I used to have one that scared the crap out of my wife every time she would walk by. She would his and lunge/rattle her tail. I miss her. She would hiss with a rat halfway down her throat which always surprised me and made me laugh. Great snakes. She but me once but once you had her out a minute she was good.
