'Gonzales', aphonopelma sp. Michoacán young adult female (Mexican aphonopelma sp), chowing on some mealworms. This girl is so fast, active & food responsive, certainly no pet rock!
Mine came from TSS was a lot smaller than I expected defo not the "17cm" beasts they stated they were & looked nothing like the pics they use, she's 10/11cm at most (though they did say "young adult females" I suppose... they're CB too apparently many of the bigger aphonopelmas sold are WC as I'm sure you know). Named this girl after speedy gonzales cause my god she's quick, and has a great feeding response which is cool for an aphonopelma! Can be skittish but tbf she's never threat posed or kicked hair even once, very chill during rehousings etc actually. Overall this girl's a lot of fun!

Was tss I was looking at the sp sounds like fun I may have to treat myself once I get Xmas out the way assuming they still have them by then, probably will have, pretty sure they've been in there a while.

Yes they have a load of Aphonopelma in again atm I was looking last week for the SO's Xmas present (he ended up with one of their Neoholothele fasciaaurinigra af's ) but I must admit I have looked at these a few times and considering getting one but tbh my SO got one of the wc from the first batch they had in and she never thrived and passed away after only a few months so it put me off a bit, but after seeing yours n you saying how fun they are I may have to invest. I do like Aphonopelma love the way the burrow, the build on them , and that stance they have when standing still always reminds me of a big dog getting ready to play .
