Hey guys so my Dark Fishing Spider just laid her second egg sac today and I wanted some advice on how long till they hatch and what I should do. Any advice will be much appreciated!!
She's pretty as far as I have read she can have upto 1400 baby's in her sack once they are ready to hatch she will suspend them in a web nursery and allow them to hatch looking after them for a while protecting them from predators till the baby's disperse and hide for the winter months . Apparently the female won't take food till the baby's are gone but I have no idea how long this takes . Usually I would say remove mum once baby's have hatched and go from there but I honestly have no idea with this sp. They seem to be popular though all I had to do was Google dark fishing spider eggsack and lots of info came up. everything goes well and someone with more knowledge then me answers you
Just to say too, handling isn't a good thing on here, not many of us deem it worth the risk to the spider, you may not get answers for this reason.

thank you so much for your advice! I really appreciate it. I have kept many of these girls but not a single one laid eggs TWICE with me, only once. Hopefully they hatch healthy!!

They should from what I read they often double clutch, they make a sack early June and then again once September is coming up so your girl is built for this, she should be fine and I didn't read anything saying the second sack would fail so in 3 weeks or so you will have a clutch of baby fishers please post if you do I have never seen baby fishers before I live in the uk so don't get to see these spiders.

That is such exciting news that her eggs have a high chance of being fertile!! Thank you so much!!! I will be sure to update you when they hatch in 3 weeks
