i'd say about a year give or take, i bought them in febuary as well started nympths and they matured about 1-2 months ago
very different from tarantulas, they need good airflow and come from arid regions in Kenya, but the distribution is fairly large so they are probaly around in other countries too
essentially i keep them without substrate, never spray and they get all the water from their prey
a small cricket-box with a bent twig, like seen in the picture, is enough to keep them their entire lives
as you can imagine they nned to feed a lot more frequently than spiders
They are also fairly small (~5cm) and bulky, with shorter legs when compared with other more gangly Mantidae
probably because they have adapted to hide on the far side of twigs an branches, moving sideways and around to stay out of sight, they are incredibly quick doing so but otherwise fairly slow
that coupled with their leopard like spotting is probably eponymous for this mantid
