Wild caught Aphonopelma sp. from New Mexico, USA. Can anyone confirm the sex?
It's likely A. hentzi, A. gabeli, or A. vorhiesi - those are the 3 larger species common in that area. Did you catch it, or did someone send it to you?
I was the one that caught it. I originally thought it was A. chalcodes because it looks different from A. Hentzi, and A. vorhiesi and A. Gabeli are too dark.
 
PM me or post a dorsal pic in the ID forum. I'd like to figure out what it is since that's in my neck of the woods. 😁 Chalcodes isn't out of the question, but that would be a couple hundred miles east of their known range.
