Grammostola Pulchripes, male or female? I'm leaning female but not 100% sure
Thank you for confirming that. Now I can get a few good meals in her before I send my male in
What size is she? Should be about 5.5 inch at least before trying to pair this species. Ideally 6 inches tho. They also have a very long gestation period so when was last moult as tou coukd invest time and effort breeding onky for her to moult out before a sac. If male is frwsh and her last moult was 12 months plus, would be better getting her to moult first and just keep the male cool and in a small enclosure so he is not wasting energy. Couple of options there anyway and GL 👍

She's 6" now. She just molted 16 days ago. I wanna give her another 2 weeks and a few more good meals. My male is over 6"... probably closer to 7", and isn't a fresh male. He still looks good though.

Have you not got the moult just to make absolutely certain by checking the spermathecae? Should be dark for a mature female ready for breeding. Try earthworms and other high protein food to get her in best condition 👍

I do, but have not checked it yet. I probably have 6 I need to check. Microscope is on the way for that.

Won't need a microscope at that size. Even if can't see with naked eye, zoom in with phone and will be easily identifiable 👍

To add...the earthworms I use are called Giant Lob worms from bait shops. I don't trust digging up my own just in case they have been in contact with various nasties in the gardens they visit. So "farmed" earthworms where it is confirmed no pesticide/insecticides. Sorry I should have made that clear in last reply.

Much appreciated information. I'm new to this hobby, was terrified of spiders 7 months ago. Now I have over 20 Ts and lots and lots of jumpers. (Acquired a gravid female) and her 1st sac is now I5
