Can somebody with the required expertise help me identify this tarantula? I'm asking for a friend of mine who ordered it online, and received no description of the species of tarantula. We have both tried to identify the tarantula through all online resources that we could think of, but to no avail.
I've been looking around the internet for spider related stuff for reasons i wont explain when i saw a taxidermy of this species mentioned above. I googled it and I only saw MORE taxidermy's. ( i even own a taxidermy of it...) Does anyone know where this species came from and other useful...
Thanks for all your helpful input. I have spent several hours trying to identify the species in question, but could it be the case that this is a Citharacanthus spinicrus?

The moral of the story of most of those threads linked is that the actual species that is mounted can vary depending on where it came from, but they're all labeled with an obsolete species name. If it came from a new world location (Central/South America, Caribbean), then it could possibly be Citharacanthus or any number of large, brown NW tarantulas. If it was collected in the old world (Africa/Asia/Oceana/Australia), it could by Cyriopagopus, Chilobrachys, Selenocosmia, etc.. There's really no way to tell for sure. I will say that the one in your photo looks like an OW species, so not Citharacanthus - maybe a Chilobrachys species.
