G Pulchra 2in

Same spider as in this post:


I was completely convinced male, but after looking through everyone’s posts of little pulchras here, I’m not sure! Any thoughts?

Here is the molt wet and backlit:

I believe this is a male.

I was convinced male with the first pics I took (the wet molt), but when it dried it looked more like some of these posts (example, example) and that's when I began to wonder, because I would have guessed male on those, but people were saying female! I was like, time to break the seal and post on Arachnoboards.

(Feel this is also a necessary step towards the acceptance stage that my bb angel is a boy XD)

I suppose with these guys it's not out of the question that it could be female, but in my experience with the young females that you can't see the spermathecae yet, you can at least see a little roll - which is the uterus externus rolled up and hiding the spermathecae. I don't see that roll here, and in the first and last pics there appears to be a little patch of dense, dark setae just forward of the epigastric furrow, which would be the epiandrous fusillae (male parts). I always recommend continuing to check the molts with G. pulchra, though - you never know what you might find! LOL

Oh gosh, it took over a year to get to this molt (putting on exactly ZERO size I might add) so sounds like laddy or lady, we have a while together yet LULULULU.
