The lining of three structures are viewable in this picture: the pharynx (left), esophagus (middle), and the sucking stomach (right). But I guess it is easier for everyone to just call the whole thing the “sucking stomach?”
Fun fact about the pharynx. It is lined with micro ridges on the inside that collect particles that are too small to be trapped by the maxillae hairs but too big to be passed through to the sucking stomach. During the grooming process after eating, the collected particles are forced back through the mouth and discarded. It is a part of what goes on when a tarantula runs its palps through the fangs.
