So I have another wild-caught aphonapelma. In West Texas. She looks a lot different than the other one, any guesses on species? Once they both molt I can look at the literature and figure it out with a microscope... I think
This one would be Aphonopelma hentzi. You can see that this one does not have the wide metatarsus as the other one you posted a picture of. There are only three species of Aphonopelma in west Texas: A. armada, A. hentzi, and A. gabeli. All three can be readily identified visually.
