Nice close up of dinner time !
When I first got my 3 Ts I expected to see their prey succumb to venom....
and was surprised to find that they've always chewed the prey alive - sometimes a roach will still be kicking a leg after 20 minutes !
 
@PurplePanther You'd be surprised how quickly venom works on the species with potency on their side. My Phlogius subadult has a dead roach within a few minutes of the first bite. I've seen her tag a roach, let it scurry off, and then go find the corpse a few minutes later to eat it.
 
So I guess if there's no yellow snot-looking stuff coming out, then the T didn't use any venom? I wonder how often they actually do it
 
@EulersK No, I mean, normally when I watch a T feeding video there's white stuff which is roach guts, then some yellow piss looking stuff comes out which I always assumed was the spider's venom
 
@Moakmeister No, tarantula venom is crystal clear and delivered in very small doses. What you're seeing is probably just more roach innards.
