Yeah, it's a bummer when something like that happens. Especially at an expo where it's not exactly easy to follow up with the vendor. I will pump up the lividus a little, though - I love my girl! She's beautiful and sitting out on the mouth of her burrow 90% of the time. Eats like a champ and takes down prey hard. I have mine set up in a halpotank-style enclosure and she loves it.
Thanks. I just emailed the photos to the vendor. They are standing by their claim it's an O. aureotibialis. It very clearly is not. I'm frustrated. Not sure what else to do. I may post in the local T Facebook group to warn others.

Thank you so much for your help. They are both beautiful spiders, it just isn't the exact flavor of pet hole I thought I was getting, Also, O. aureotibialis is more than double the price of a C. lividus on this vendor's website. But, this spider sounds very similar to yours. I see it at the mouth of its burrow almost every evening and it's a great eater.
I'm sure these kinds of mix-ups are unavoidable by breeders who are dealing with hundreds of similar looking slings at a time. But, the fact that the vendor is denying that they sold me the wrong spider makes me wonder whether it was accidental. Perhaps they thought they could pass them off as the wrong spider and since they are fossorial, it would be a long time before anyone noticed.
