Tarantulas are indigenous to 6 of the 7 continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. There are of course, no tarantulas indigenous to Antarctica. So, if you could choose to keep tarantulas from only one continent, which continent would you choose?

I think that I'd go with Africa.

Big D, It was a hard choice between North (due to various Brachy's and Apho's) and South America but I chose South as there are far more genera I'm interested in represented there that I have yet to obtain :).

Cheers,

Terry

For me, Asia, I love the Pokies, Selenocosmia (also in Australia), Chilobrachys etc.
Cass might say North America because she loves the Brachys

I'm fasinated by pokies, and I would like to own a singapore blue one day. I like the speed and awesome colors/patterns of the Asianic species.

I'm the Australian vote - because it's my favorite continent that T's are found on as implied by the title of the thread ;).
'Course it doesn't hurt that my two T's are from Australia either.

And here I thought only Cobalt Blue Balls (Haplopelma testidium) were the only ones from there! You just blew my mind Joe!

In all seriousness, South America.. They have everything for everyone.

I voted for South America, seeing that it's home to genera like Chromatopelma, Cyclosternum, Acanthoscurria, Ephebophus, Avicularia, etc.
