a good lighting set up for a leopard gecko that's housed in a 10 gallon tank? Also, should I just use heat mat and infrared lamp at night? Can someone give me set up examples as well as brands and types of lighting aswell as heat mats?!? :) thanks for your input

Leopard geckos are nocturnal and need no special light whatsoever. Just use an undertank heating pad under one side of the tank. You'll want a floor temp of about 82-88 degrees on the heating pad, so you'll probably need a thermostat to turn it down (they tend to be more like 90+ ).

My 2 cents. We have had one for 12+ years. She is the picture of health, and sheds regularly. All with a 40W Soft White bulb in a reflector over the cage. I give her 2 hides, and she regulates where she goes, according to her needs. I have made my own hides using shale and silicone. These are pretty thick, and hold heat over night, so I do not use any additional heat source. Excellent low maintenance lizard.
