What Kind of Insects are these?

Hi there

1) = a Water Stick Insect - actually a harmless bug

2) = some sort of leaf hopper - Homoptera

3) = a species of Tortoise Beetle - family Cassidae.

Right on with it being family Chrysomelidae. The first one is Nepidae also known as Water scorpion, they are predatory. Unfortunately Homoptera is a bad term these days, the group has been shown to be not monophyletic...but Mat is right it is a true bug, and a cool looking one at that!
