What kind of Giant Silk Moth is this?

I think their silk moth eggs grow into moths that look like that one......just a guess.

Polyphemus moth, Antheraea polyphemus, assuming there isn't a very closely related species as with Cecropia and regal moths. When did you photograph it?

ah, thanks, but that info is wrong becuase I did find it here in Arizona aorund Tucson. The time was I believe in Sept.

Yeah, they're all over the US, now, because of transferring infested trees and saplings, and Tucson is warm enough for year-round brooding.
