After comparing pics of species, Misumenops sp is more of a lighter shade than Xysticus sp.

you really think the feature to distinguish Misumenops from Xysticus is the lighter color?

Guess what?!? The whitebalance in the picture is horrible and the spider´s not that light in RL I bet ;)

My bad. :) No I do not think that is the key feature to distinguish the two species apart. It was merely a guess/opinion/observation after looking at pictures of the 2 species.

I should have said this: After comparing pics of species,IMO it looks to my noobish eyes that overall, Misumenops sp is more of a lighter shade than Xysticus sp.
That's better.
