Sorry to hear about your male pokie <3:( I never saw something like this before. So good to learn something new in case this happens in the future.
Thanks...

It seems to be somewhat rare so hopefully it's one of those once in a lifetime kind of things.. I would be pissed if I raised a slow growing or rare species to adulthood and had that happen!

Kind of reminds me of the moth that I posted in the insect Forum last week. The wings never expanded properly and the poor thing was left sitting on a wall unable to move much until it died after expelling unfertilized eggs in a haphazard mess.

I guess sometimes things just go wrong for whatever reason. Mutation, error in the genetic code, who really knows for sure.

Sorry about your guy there, hopefully you have other males of the species that you can use for breeding.
wondered what happened with this guy

Well, I learned something today, so thank you for the thread, even if the occasion sucks for you.

Have a safe and uneventful move!

Thanks man.. I feel you certain threads just make your mind run wild and before you know it, it's 3am and your checking to see if your Tarantulas have nematodes or mites or something Lol...

In a way I'm glad it happened as it seems a few people didn't know it was possible... I honestly can't say I'm surprised that they can have deformed emboli but it wws the first time I have come across it...

Thanks unfortunately we already hit a snag and can't leave untill tomorrow afternoon.. Its fine though I can use some sleep or just some time to relax.. Lol..

I had no idea this was even possible, at least you have another male to breed your girls with.
As you've said "I had no idea this was even possible" you may well be quite correct, as the MM's are both adequately developed - I've never heard of this before, I'm sure no one else on the forum has either, I just hope the pairing goes extremely well for @14pokies, your other MM H. mac that matured first is in good shape - yes, no, could you confirm this please, thanks mate.

Yup they are both packing.. l just had trouble finding there reproductive organs because of the way they are situated on the Tarantula. It didn't help that when I was trying to get a good look with a bright flashlight they would scrunch up so that nothing was visible.. Lol
