Hi,

Thank you! I also think this is very interesting passive deffensive method. I know many species apply it, but the hair queen is the Theraphosa apophysis, where this "haircarpet" is easily visible. I wanted to take picture from this hair blanket when the spieder molted. I hope it succeeded:) .

It is indeed the same spider, just at different stages of the moult cycle.

That sir is indeed an apophysis. Apophysis have pink feet, and blondi, are, greenish blue looking... grey something as Slings that is, Apophysis will have those pink feet until at least until above the 4in mark... If there is one thats more than 4in and still has pink feet, it probably wont have them the next time it molts. I noticed the other post, I'm going to read it and do some research on it for an hour, and I'll report back.
