75 F should be just fine for almost any tarantula I can think of. I keep all mine at room temp and have not had deaths due to temp. humidity is my evil foe here in UT.
also solids have a tendency to seem cooler than gases at room temperature
the air in the room at 75*F can't steal as much of your body heat as substrate at 75*F in the same amount of time. it is because the substrate is like, a 1000 times more dense. so in the same amount of time the sub steals more body heat and feels colder
