I tried looking around, but havent quite found a definative answer yet?

After how long or maybe the question is how big is a T no longer considered a sling?

And while on the subject (im think this is related) could someone explain what is meant by "instar"?

Thanks

There is a bunch of threads on this, but I'm not sure what search term would be best to use to find them. Basically, a T is still a sling or spiderling until it starts to get adult coloration. An instar is a molt stage. So if I'm correct a sling that has had 2 molts is at 2nd instar. Though I'm not entirely sure when you start counting, if it's at the legs with egg stage of development or the next molt. I've heard both, so I can't be certain. Someone on here will know though.

Eggs with Legs - Larvae Stage

Molts and becomes 1st instar - usually not sold at this stage

Molts again and becomes 2nd instar - fully mobile spiderlings - many species will eat at this stage and this is usually the earliest they will be sold...

*There are variations on this and you will hear different responses from different people*
