Spider veil "swallowed" 300 meters of vegetation in south Greece

A strange sight came to the residents of Aitoliko yesterday evening. Specifically, on the eastern lagoon beach, before the bridge, there is a huge "veil" of spider webs that has covered the plants (palm trees, armiriki and herbaceous vegetation) at a length of at least 300 meters.

The inhabitants talk about an unprecedented event pointing out that the last Days of mosquito clusters took place. Then obviously spiders spread the huge veil, which is shown in the photos, resulting in the mosquitoes being trapped. Probably it is a reaction of nature to balance the system by mosquito restraint.

Really wonder what kind of true spider can build that massive webs, i suppose that here is a division of spiders works all together ??

Yeah, I'm going to nix Tetragnatha. That's what they were IDed as from the news. But whoever did the ID went entirely by body shape.
