I have a communal Centruroides vittatus tank and lately I have noticed a lot of "action" happening at night. I witnessed my first scorpion mating the other night, but after the male deposidted the spermatophore on the rock, the female fought hard to get away and never touched the spermatophore.
Then just now i take a good look inside the cage and i see seven spermatophore's littered about the cage. Naturally, this raises some questions.
How often can males deposit spermatophore's?
Will a pregnant female accept a spermatophore?
Do "accepted" spermatophore's look different from non "accepted"?
Is it a good sign that i see these everywhere, or a bad sign that they are still there?
