Part 2. Sorry if my posts are getting annoying but I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished.

How did you get all those legs onto a baby ball python?

Wow, that's a calm 'pede! Wish you luck with her and the others!

The moment you all have been waiting for: the handling. Went well and I’m happy with the result!

You got this thing last week and you can pick it up already?!?!??!!? That's just unfair. :)

I guess New World 'pedes have much nicer temperaments than Asian ones. I gotta see about getting one of these things...

Aw, she's cute! How long do S. gigantea live? The more I see 'pedes around here, the more I want one. Even if all their legs are still freaky as heck.

When I first got her she was very flighty, bitey towards the tongs, and terminals up if the enclosure was disturbed. It just took a few hours a day after work and it ended up going well! Making sure she was well fed helped a lot too.

I doubt that they'd only live for 5-7 years from pling to death. Most internet info regarding pede lifespan is a little out of date. I'd say 10-15 would be more accurate.

Hey if that's the truth then that's even better, I just always heard 5-7 years is standard for them.

Good. Though, you might be able to make a killing as a centipede whisperer, calming specimens down and then selling them.

A week is actually normal socialisation time for the more docile pedes. That's roughly how long it took me with my old S. morsitans.
