Safe way of marking individuals?

So I posted before about my emperor colony that is going downhill, which seems to be due to about 4-5 generations of inbreeding. I was planning on trying to pick up a new mating pair to start over, but it would be nice to stud the male to see if he can breed with my existing females and maybe gradually strengthen the bloodline. To do this though I'd have to have some way of marking that male so I know which one to transfer back and forth. In high school we did a project with beetles and marked their backs with white-out to tell them apart but I don't know if this is safe for scorpions. Anyone have any other ideas about how to mark one individual to tell it apart from the others?

I believe that in myrmecology(study of ants) they use some sort of paint to mark individuals for ponerine ants or to mark polygynous queens. You could try searching it up to see what type to use.
