I've got several native wolf spiders who have been living with me a few months. Is it safe to release them this time of yr or would the weather change be an issue? Right now it's been in the 50-60s during the day and down to 40s at night.

Probably a dumb question but they have been at 76F room temps for a bit.

Many wolf spiders burrow and go into a dormant state during winter. I'm sure many perish during this time- those who failed to find enough food to carry them through this period. But they can live longer than three years, so there's probably a good chance they'll survive, should they be able to burrow before snow falls. Some, like pardosa, or pirata are known for being active directly on snow.
